Janusz Popławski with the Salon Orchestra Columbia - Rad jam pieścił kobiet kwiat [German title: Gern hab’ich die Frau’n geküßt] [English title: Girls Are Made To Love And Kiss] from Operetta „Paganini” (F. Lehár) Columbia 1934 (Polish)
NOTE: Operetta “Paganini” is an operetta written in 1924 by Franz Lehár - author of The Land of Smiles and Merry Widow - as a highly successful attempt to return to the grand style of the Viennese operetta. In the mid-1920s it was already known whatsoever, that days of the operetta were numbered and its place was being taken over by the cinema and the music-hall. A huge success of "Paganini" in Vienna in 1925 was followed by its premieres all over Europe. In Warsaw, "Paganini" was staged at Teatr Nowości in 1927. The handsome tenor Bolesław Mierzejewski performed as Paganini, although Paganini was famous for his ugliness. The Duchess was performed by Lucyna Messal, the grand diva of Polish operetta.
