It does absolutely nothing for your fellow-man, it is entirely introverted, it is narcissistic, it celebrates the flesh over the spirit or the soul, it is technically gluttony, since you consume far more food than you actually need. It would horrify any saint or monk: it is practically the opposite of a life of fasting, praying and contemplation. It is far more roman gladiator than Christian missionary.
