Saruzeufel: Have you tried driving it from the bottom instead of from the top? Sometimes the small change in where the slack of the chain is does the trick

Kevin Reid: It looks like if the belt were somehow pulled down or constrained against the slope, the steps would be closer to the intended angle — right now the belt is free to float above its intended path, right?

Racernator De: I think I once saw someone else build a working escalator, but at a much larger scale (Perhabs twice in size). Can't remember who it was though
guy990: Would Lego GBC elevator mechanisms work in this case
Sebrenity: Increasing the wheel diameter, if possible, may help the lurching as the chain bends and straightens which will make minifigs less likely to fall over
Would using a 2x1 45degree double slope isntead of the single slope perhaps work better if correctly oriented?
