@SithWithNoName: 8:10 The only storehouse that the tithes went to was in Jerusalem. There isn’t 7 million storehouses worldwide. Your local church isn’t the storehouse.

@MrLu777: This is a very valid question. Where do the pastors who used the tithing to buy property, mansions, and nice cars fit into all this? People are supporting these people's ministry, and these people use the same verses to put rear in people. That's a real-life problem for decades.

@3angelsfarmacy: Tithing is a test of trust and faith in the Lord. I tested it and God has rewarded my simple trust and faith and many times at the last minute, praise the Lord.
@FinnishSuperSomebody: I actually finally got agreement on this just only couple of weeks ago. I have been given tithes maybe couple of years now to my church (SDA). It was probably the only thing I had not fully had agreed on theological level with my church, even tho I had given tithes. For me, it was not a tithe in that sense that I thought tithes are. I had understood that it is our responsibility as a christians to give to church as it is told in New Testament, but I was not agreeing that it is called a tithe.
Well couple of weeks ago on one sermon speaker talked shortly about tithes as well and he mentioned that how Abraham gave tithes to Melkisedek, before there was law about tithes for Levis. That was the point when I got "A-HA!" moment since I had always thought that tithes was only for levis and therefore part of the old covenant in that sense (since we had no levis as a priets). When I saw that tithes were given even BEFORE there was levis it was an eye opening monent - tithes are general principle for us as well since it was not given only for people of Israel to support the Levis. That was a good to learn that :)
