I've analised and play some of the new (early) manuscript version. The theme is altered and crossedout but the theme developments and variations of the theme also have a first version that was erased for the version we know as final. Nevertheless there is a passage that wasn´t crossedout by Chopin and remains as an authentic variant. The variant is much diferent from the final version and maybe that is the reason why he left it out diferently from the final version.
With that being said: the bars 53, 54 and 55 have a diferent version that weasn't erased in this manuscript. Pay attention to the manuscript, the melody rises insted of imitating the original theme.
In the audio we ear only the theme being altered but all the development section of bar 46 and beyond are also altered and erased on the manuscript. Also the first variation from bar 58 and beyond has a primary version and then esaed to the final version we know.
This could of course lead to a very diferent fugatto section and also other appearences of the theme on the left hand, for instance on bar 122, 126 and 128 (where the theme apears on left hand).

@nikb6176: One of the most important works of art in the world, it is criminal it took so long for this manuscript to be accessed by scholars. Arguably Chopin's greatest piece, certainly one of the greatest works in all the romantic piano repertoire.
@BjornHegstad: Pianist Matthew Cates has also recorded an interpretation of the manuscript, the first one on Youtube as far as I know. He goes even further by discerning the scribbled out passages, revealing even more of Chopin's first draft.
