It was my second attempt at making a heat treat oven, this time I decided to make it more powerful. Used better isolation materials and made thicker heating coils. Results of this combination is that this oven reaches 800°C in less than 7 minutes, for comparison previews one needs for almost 3 hours. My first attempt of making a damascus steel chef's knife. made of 4 types of tool steel with O2 steel on the core. It's 18cm / 7 inch blade with stabilized wood on the handle. Chef's knife is the main tool in every kitchen that are in the use almost all the time, that's why it has to be reliable. It's my first attempt of making a feather pattern damascus steel, started from 2 billets made of 3 types of steel: O2, K600, NC6, after few folding I added some NCV1(wood saw) steel between layers. This project was the biggest challenge for me so far, feather pattern damascus steel is not easy, require decent amount of imagination and lots of hammering specialty with out power tools. This video showes hoewer that damascus steel mosaick pattern is possible to make eaven with out power hammer or forging press. Thanks for watching :)...
